eco geometric abstraction

I believe people need strangeness.

The ill-defined and abstract create suggestions of subjectivity and disrupts our default visual assumptions. I aim to bring that to the viewer through my artwork.

My work incorporates painted eco-geometric patterns, colorful vistas, fervid dream outpourings & inner and outer landscapes. I seek to create visual experiences that, for me, are records of time—emoting and processing my life experiences through mark making. In that vein, I see all art as behavior, and not a talent or skill. It’s just what we humans do.

I am influenced by a deep sense of intuition and movement in the moment, unencumbered by internalized expectations.  My daily experiences as part of the natural world —being in the woods, the color gradient of the night sky— bring me to my work. The myco-fractal underground, the layers of earthen dirt, and my need for wide open space inform my compositions.
